We are currently recruiting for our 2025 Spring and Summer Season at Walnut Beach Resort. We are looking for highly motivated, positive, and upbeat individuals to join our culinary team. Under the direction of our Chef Lasmar, we will take our guests from the Okanagan farms and orchards to our beautiful lakeside restaurant and patio. Surrounded by vineyards, orchards and Lake Osoyoos in the backyard we are a 112 room resort offering modern amenities, an onsite restaurant and bar, and Osoyoos only licensed private beach bar! Job Duties:

  • Work as part of a team to prepare and help execute daily 3 meal operations
  • Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of professionalism by following the company dress code and/or wearing the company uniform.
  • Portion, prepare quality food in a timely, consistent manner following recipe guidelines and instruction by the Chef
  • Responsible for opening, closing, and cleaning duties; a great mise en place and clean kitchen are essential for a positive guest experience.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude always.
  • Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
  • Dedication to the highest quality with every plate leaving the kitchen at any time.
  • Maintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are being used safely and according to provided direction.

Job requirements:

  • 1yrs. Progressive experience in the Kitchen
  • Culinary education an asset
  • Great people skills, fun, energetic, out going
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Courteous, friendly, professional attitude
  • Detail oriented, multitasking ability and strong work ethic required – both individually and as part of a team
  • Food Safe & WHIMIS are required
  • Proven experience as cook
